What I Offer
CHRONIC SWELLING
- Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI)
- Venous Disease
- Dependent Oedema
- Mixed Oedema
Lymphoedema
Lymphoedema is a chronic condition that causes a protein rich fluid build up in the tissue space due to a malformation, dysfunction or disruption to the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is then unable to effectively transport fluid away from an area of the body. This then leads to a chronic fluid build up in the tissue space.
While lymphoedema cannot currently be cured, it can be successfully managed with appropriate treatment and ongoing self-care.
Types of Lymphoedema
Primary Lymphoedema
Primary lymphoedema develops as a result of an underdeveloped or abnormal lymphatic system. Symptoms may be present at birth or develop later in life.
- Congenital or inherited lymphatic abnormalities
- May develop at birth, puberty, or adulthood
- Often affects the legs, but can occur anywhere
- No prior injury, surgery, or illness is required
- Lifelong management helps control symptoms
Secondary Lymphoedema
Secondary lymphoedema occurs when the lymphatic system has been damaged by another condition or event. Common causes include:
- Cancer treatment (lymph node removal or radiation therapy)
- Surgery
- Trauma or injury
- Infection
- Venous disease
- Obesity and reduced mobility
Common Signs and Symptoms
Lymphoedema can develop gradually and may include:
- Swelling in an arm, leg, hand, foot, or other body area
- Feelings of heaviness, tightness, or fullness
- Aching or discomfort
- Aching or Reduced flexibility or movement of the affected limb
- Changes in clothing, jewellery, or shoe fit
- Skin changes or recurrent infections
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, early assessment and treatment are recommended.
Our Goal
The aim of treatment is not only to reduce swelling, but to improve comfort, mobility, tissue health, and confidence while helping you successfully manage your condition for the long term.

Aesthetic Post-Operative Recovery
Surgery is an investment in yourself, and your recovery deserves just as much attention as the procedure itself. My post-operative recovery sessions are designed to support healing, improve comfort, optimise tissue health, and help you return to daily life feeling more like yourself as quickly and safely as possible.
I work with patients recovering from a variety of aesthetic procedures.
Recovery Assistance
Aesthetic Procedure Recovery
I work with patients recovering from a variety of aesthetic procedures, including:
- Facelift and neck lift surgery
- Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)
- Facial fat grafting
- Liposuction
- Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)
- Breast augmentation, reduction and uplift procedures
- Body contouring procedures
- Reconstructive surgery
Facelift Recovery
Facelift surgery is a particular area of interest within my practice.
Following surgery, it is common to experience swelling, tightness, discomfort, altered sensation, tissue congestion, and bruising. Treatment focuses on supporting your body’s natural healing processes while helping to improve comfort and reduce visible swelling.
Many patients report feeling:
- Less swollen
- Less tight and congested
- More comfortable during recovery
- More confident returning to daily activities
My Treatment Approach
Recover Better. Feel Better. Heal Confidently.
Recovery is about far more than manual lymphatic drainage alone.
Each session is tailored to your procedure, stage of healing, symptoms, and surgeon’s recommendations. Treatment may incorporate a combination of lymphatic techniques, swelling management strategies, tissue care, scar support, compression guidance, and personalised recovery recommendations to support optimal healing.
Importantly, no tension, stretching, or pulling is applied on or around surgical incisions. Treatments are always gentle, comfortable, and appropriate for the healing phase.
Our Goal
The goal is to help you feel more comfortable, less swollen, and more confident throughout your recovery while supporting the best possible surgical outcome. Your surgeon's post-operative instructions are always respected and remain an integral part of your personalised recovery plan.
Recommended Treatment Plan
For most facelift patients, I typically recommend:
- 1–2 sessions per week for the first 2 weeks
- Followed by 1 session per week for the next 2 weeks
Chronic Swelling & Oedema Management
Chronic swelling can have many underlying causes. For this reason, I recommend a medical assessment by your doctor or specialist to establish the cause of swelling before commencing treatment. This allows us to develop the most appropriate management plan and ensures any underlying medical concerns are addressed.
Persistent swelling is not always caused by lymphoedema. Many people experience ongoing swelling due to venous disease, dependent oedema, reduced mobility, prolonged sitting or standing, obesity, medication side effects, or a combination of factors.
Chronic swelling can lead to discomfort, heaviness, tightness, reduced mobility, skin changes, and a significant impact on quality of life if left unmanaged.
